About
Welcome to Worry Versus Donuts DOT COM! We appreciate your patronage much like plants appreciate the sun and grad students appreciate coffee.
This blog contains pretty much whatever the author, a chap named Jariten, feels like putting here. This includes personal rants, analyses of various cultural topics, things in Japanese (こんな風に) and other languages, announcements, attempts at something resembling literature, and perhaps even nonsensical stuff that will make sense to nobody.
The title reflects the nature of the blog itself. Worry signifies worry, problems, and other stuff that is written while the author is brooding or sleep deprived. Donuts represent the good stuff. Why donuts? Well, why not? They are a snack/breakfast food loved by many. Although they may incur thoughts of cops, coffee, or perhaps a large gentleman in a donut costume, they are the food of cheer! Not to mention that “Worry versus Happiness” sounds like a rejected episode title for the Care Bears. Donuts just sound better.
The random photo “slot machine” script at the top was created by Matthew Anderson, who has also saved my rear end numerous times when PHP edits and site bugs made me want to start throwing random things at the wall. Thanks Matt!
Enjoy!
